For iPhone and iPad, ages 6 to 10

Times tables that finally click

Spots is a calm, hand-drawn times-tables app. Your child sees why 4 × 5 is 20 by counting ladybug spots, then practises until the answer simply comes. There is no clock on the screen.

Every table has its own page: ten calm questions with the ladybug, the trick, and a worksheet to print. No sign-up, no ads.

Made for these families

  • Just starting the tables

Your child is meeting times tables for the first time and needs to see what 4 × 5 means before learning it by heart.

  • Stuck on the hard ones

The 6s, 7s and 8s won’t stick. Spots teaches each table’s trick and gives the facts children miss most a little extra practice.

  • Freezes against the clock

Timed tests bring tears. Spots has no clock, and a wrong answer shows the counting instead of a red cross.

  • A test is coming

A school check or a diploma is on the calendar. The parent view shows which facts are known and roughly how far there is to go.

Understand it first, then know it by heart

  1. See it with spots

Every table starts with ladybugs. In the 5 times table each ladybug has five spots, so 4 × 5 is four ladybugs: 5, 10, 15, 20.

  2. Count, then remember

Your child counts along with the spots at first. With practice the answer comes from memory, quickly and without counting.

  3. No clock, mistakes explained

There is no timer on the screen. A wrong answer is never just “wrong”: Spots shows the counting that leads to the right one.

  4. Badges and stories

Each table ends with a badge, and your child shows a grown-up the table’s trick. Short picture stories tell where counting came from.

Proof you can see as a parent

Behind a grown-ups gate, Spots shows what your child actually knows, and how that changes. All of it is made on your device and goes nowhere unless you share it.

  • The fact map

All 55 facts as spots that colour in once they are known, with a star for the quick ones.

“Noor knows 40 of the 55 facts, 37 of them quickly.”

  • Since you started

A calm 3-minute starting-point check, and a re-check after four weeks, so you see the change from where your child began.

  • The finish line

An honest range, such as “about 3 to 5 weeks to go”, worked out from your child’s own pace. A range, not a promise.

  • The weekly card

Practice days, new facts and one tricky fact to ask about. Share it as a picture with whoever you like.

  • Diplomas for your school

The klein and groot tafeldiploma (Netherlands), maaltafels and deeltafels (Flanders), multiplication and division diplomas (Sweden and Norway) and Year 3 and Year 4 certificates (Australia).

  • A check on paper

One printable page of sums at your child’s level. Do it now and again in four weeks, and see the change without taking the app’s word for it.

Calm by design

  • No ads, no tracking and no account. Nothing about your child leaves the device.
  • No streaks and no notifications. A missed day costs nothing.
  • Nothing to buy in your child’s part of the app. Plans and prices only appear behind the grown-ups gate.
  • Room for every child in the family, each with their own ladybug and progress.
  • In English, Dutch (with Flemish school words), Swedish and Norwegian.
  • Sums written the way your school writes them: 3 × 4, or 3 · 4 in Sweden and Norway.

Try everything free for 2 weeks, then a plan

2 weeks free, then the monthly subscription

New subscribers get the whole app free for 2 weeks: all 10 tables, division, the stories, the checks and the diplomas. The free 2 weeks are the start of the monthly family subscription. You start them in the grown-ups area, at first setup or later, through Apple.

If you cancel at least 24 hours before the 2 weeks end, you pay nothing. If you don’t, the monthly subscription begins and renews every month until you cancel.

After the free 2 weeks, Spots needs one of these:

Family subscription

Monthly

Starts with the 2 free weeks for new subscribers, then renews every month until you cancel.

Family subscription

Yearly

Renews every year until you cancel.

One payment

Lifetime

Pay once. It is not a subscription, so nothing renews.

  • Without a subscription or the lifetime purchase, the tables stay locked. The badges and diplomas your child has earned stay visible, and Spots never shows your child anything about buying.
  • All three work with Family Sharing: one purchase covers you and up to five family members.
  • Prices are shown in the App Store and in the app before you buy. They differ from country to country, so we don’t list them here.
  • Payment, renewal and cancelling all go through Apple. To stop a subscription, cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial or the current period ends, in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions or with Manage subscription in the app’s grown-ups area. How to cancel.
